Everyone loves some beef jerky! I found a recipe for jerky on the Traeger. I was so excited to try it, I could not wait for the weekend. I got a piece of eye of round steak and got started.
Cut the meat into 1/4″ strips and place in a Ziploc bag. Put together the marinade and pour over the meat, refrigerate overnight.
Remove the meat from the Ziploc, dry on paper towels and place directly on grates of preheated grill.
Time to smoke – here comes the fun part. Fire up the Traeger and get temp to about 180 degrees.
Smoke for 4-5 hours, until the jerky is dry but still chewy and somewhat pliant when you bend a piece. Transfer to a ziploc while the jerky’s still warm and let it rest for an hour at room temperature. Squeeze any air from the bag, and refrigerate the jerky. It will keep for several weeks.Enjoy!
