We have not had the best spring, rain, cold and lots of wind so the other day when it was 80 and sunny we decided to celebrate with steak night! It was a perfect night night for grilling and have dinner on the porch.
Perfect grilling menu – filet mignon, baked potato and grilled asparagus.Start with the potatoes. Poke some holes in the taters with a fork. Rub with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt. Now fire up the grill to a high temp and place the potatoes directly on the grill. These will take 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.
For a perfect medium rare on the steak – grill for 6-8 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Season the asparagus with olive oil, salt and pepper, Toss on the grill for about 8 minutes (add to grill after flipping the steak). Toss some mushrooms in a grill pan with some salt and butter and grill for about 10 minutes. Remove to a platter and dig in! Man I love summer cooking. Cheers!
